Home isn’t what it used to be—and neither is Meg Walker.
Meg barely survived the chaos of her homecoming. She thought she could catch her breath. The universe disagrees.
An old enemy has crawled out of the shadows, dragging with them fractured friendships, deadly conspiracies, and supernatural baggage heavy enough to crush a lesser woman.
But Meg isn’t lesser. She’s just tired.
With her found family caught in the crossfire and the past refusing to stay buried, Meg is running out of time—and options. To protect what matters, she’ll have to face the one battle she’s always avoided.
The fight against herself.
Lines will be crossed. Truths will unravel. And some wounds? They never really heal. This time, the monsters aren’t the only things hunting her.
From start to finish, the pacing is fast–I read the book in two days. It has a pretty badass female main character and several strong female secondary characters. The story involves some interesting moral choices made by the characters and has a great twist element.

I really loved this read. So many Urban Fantasy books focus on MCs in their 20s. It was a really nice change to see Meg, a woman in her 40s (like me!), kicking ass and being awesome, all while dealing with real world challenges in step with magical world problems.

If you enjoy kicka** female characters, you will love this book. … Many women will see themselves in these characters … At least I did! You'll be well-entertained and will find yourself asking the question "how far would I go, what am I prepared to risk, to save my friends and family from disaster?"
